More and more foreigners are turning away from the busy coastline and are looking for their dream home in the peaceful inland areas of Spain. Regions like Pinoso, Hondón de las Nieves, Cañada de la Leña, and Cañada del Trigo are especially popular with people from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the UK. But what makes this area so attractive?

1. Authentic Spanish lifestyle

In villages like Pinoso and Hondón de las Nieves, you can still experience the real Spain. No crowded beaches or mass tourism here, but quiet village squares, local markets, and friendly neighbors who welcome you with open arms. Many foreigners are looking for this pure, relaxed lifestyle where tradition and nature are still central.

2. Space and nature

One big advantage of the inland areas is the space. You often get much more house and land for your money than on the coast. Many homes have beautiful views of the mountains, vineyards, or almond orchards. The surroundings are perfect for hiking, cycling, or just enjoying peace and quiet.

3. Affordable property prices

Property prices in Pinoso and the surrounding villages are much lower than in the popular coastal towns. That makes it attractive for those dreaming of a second home or a permanent move to Spain. For the price of a small apartment on the Costa Blanca, you can often buy a detached house with a pool here.

4. Easily accessible

Despite the rural location, these villages are surprisingly easy to reach. Alicante airport is about a 45 to 60-minute drive away. That makes traveling back and forth simple, which also appeals to people who still partly work in their home country or want to visit family often.

5. Welcoming international community

There is a growing international community in this region. Especially in villages like Hondón de las Nieves and Cañada del Trigo, many foreigners live who regularly meet up for walks, markets, or local events. At the same time, many of them connect with the locals and truly integrate into village life.

6. 300 days of sunshine a year

And of course, the weather! With over 300 sunny days a year, this is one of the sunniest regions in Europe. Summers are warm and dry, winters mild. That makes life here very pleasant year-round.
